Symptom: When starting KapaMPI, the application will not start and display the message "An update is currently being installed on the Server. Please try again later." This is normal if a user tries to login while an update is being installed, but in rare cases it may persist, and not allow users to login to Kapa.

 

Status: Existing issue - random/rare occurrence


Affected products: KapaMPI after release 612 (Oct 2021)

 

Resolution: Download and run the attached script "ClearUpdateInProgressFlag.hsql". 

This script will clear the flag which specifies that an update is currently in progress. 

In most cases that this issue has occurred, the actual update had not been applied, i.e. it stopped just after setting the flag. 

In such a case you need to restart the update. You can do that by performing a "Documents Import" from any connected client. If an Automatic Import/Export task exists, you may simply wait for the task to run or force it to run at that time.
